  About the name - and the concept...

The internet practice was founded in 1998 and shortly thereafter the url was added: exec ( an abbreviation for executive officer ) dot nu ( pronounced dot "new" ) which is a top level domain name hosted by the nation of NUI  pronounced "new way".
